And I've noticed that it's quite a turbulent time back home, politically speaking. With a lot of discussion of SOPA and PIPA around in the States, I felt the need to do my part here in my little corner of the internet.
Instead of try to explain to you my understanding of the bills, here are some places you can find information for yourself.

If you feel, as I do, that these acts give a lot of power to those who would be able to use it for profit, without the proper checks and balances on which our government was founded, there are several ways you can act.
Google's efforts, along with a petition.
Wikipedia's protest page, along with more information and how to share.
Mozilla's landing page during the online protest.
You can also share and change your Facebook profile and cover pictures in protest.
The internet blackout is happening until 12AM on January 19th. Plenty of time for you to act. Let's make sure that when legislation is passed to protect copyright laws, it does it with specific language that ensures we don't blindly hand over censorship power to those who could use it for profit. Stop piracy. Not Liberty.
Normal post later this evening, I just felt I needed to say something about this.
