I decided to do my POC with strawberry millefeuille, which anyone who has ever cooked dessert with me can attest is my favorite to attempt. It's layers of flakey, light, buttery pastry, custard cream, and strawberries.
The project is going to be called «Un Jour dans le Vie d'un Dessert Français,» or, "A Day in the Life of a French Dessert." It's going to cover the whole process, from baking, to selling, and finally to eating, of the tartes, cakes, and pastries that hundreds of bakeries in the city sell every day. Hopefully. I still need to find a bakery that will let me photograph.
Anyway, enjoy this little sneak peek of the latter end of the process: eating!
Unwrapped and plated, the dessert looks fit for any table. |
I forgot my dessert spoon, but it was just as delicious with this one. |
The life of a dessert is crumb-ier than you might think... |
Hopefully I'll get a chance to talk to the bakery and start the rest of the project soon!
