You Can Always Spot a Traveler

You can always spot a traveler.
It isn't hard, you see.
You can see it in their eyes,
A twinkle of curiosity.

And a traveler's never tired,
Though they may not sleep at all.
For when they hear, "Adventure!"
They must surely heed the call.

"Home is where the heart is,"
At least, that's what is said.
But a traveler knows much better,
"Who is home?" they ask instead.

Because home is not a place,
No, that they know for sure,
How would they have felt so at home
in Paris, London, or Baltimore?

No, home must be people,
Loved ones, far and near.
Those who listen and share.
Buddies who lend an ear.

It's what makes leaving tough,
And coming back so sweet.
Because with every new adventure,
Come so many new friends to meet.

And the adventure's never over,
That they know as well.
Always learning, always growing.
Next stop? Who can tell?

So the next time you see someone
Gazing out the window lustfully,
Know you've found a Traveller.
And, just perhaps, you've found me.

The blog passed 2500 lifetime views this week, from 10 countries, on 40 posts. I can not believe the overwhelming support I've gotten from friends, family, and complete strangers on realizing my goals. Thank you to everyone who has made this dream possible, and I hope I can continue to deliver great stories, posts, and photographs in the next 4 months of my study abroad, and beyond.

Thanks,

-Michael
