I Made It To Dublin!

Wow. Rare kinda night. I haven't had two full posts in one night since I did blitz blogging in February! I'm just so excited to have made it safely into Ireland, and to have gotten so many great pictures that I can't wait to share them.

Seriously, these are hot off the camera, with just a little bit of tweaking to compensate for the cloudy day...

We started the day off with the free walking tour that our hostel offers. For a free tour, it was really great, and it was a nice way to see a lot of the landmarks of the city.

This is from the bar where the tour met. It's a digital proof of a shot
I took with my B&W film.

The first stop was Dublin Castle, where the English exercised their rule over Ireland.

Christ's Church Cathedral, built by the Vikings in 1030 AD.

The bell tower of Trinity College. It is said if a student
walks under it before they graduate, they'll fail all of their exams.
After our walking tour, we had lunch at the pub where the tour originally met up, then headed over to the train station to explore the costal town of Howth, Ireland.

The Irish flag flying over the fishing wharf.

Sailing students returning in their training boats.

A sailboat and the island in the bay.

One of the signs in the parking lot of the wharf.

The view from the park on the East Pier.

Me, on the East Pier

The main church of Howth.

The Olympic House, built in Howth for the Irish Olympic teams.
Overall, the trip has been great. We have another 1/2 day in Dublin tomorrow before busing back to Belfast in Northern Ireland for 3 days. There should be plenty more pictures to come, but until then, back to our regular programming...
