When it rains...

It pours. And ladies and gentlemen, is it pouring. Both figuratively and literally. Ohio has been grey and rainy lately, with some pretty good chances for snow in the upcoming week. It's been pretty crazy in my life too. I apparently broke my tail bone over Thanksgiving. Not really sure how it happened, but it sure hurts like hell. My car bit it again too. I'm never driving to Richmond again. This time I actually got to the city before it started, and all the way back home. It's something with the exhaust, hopefully they can get it fixed while I'm in Chicago.

I guess that's the real news of this post, and the reason a broken tail bone really sucks. I'm boarding my train to Chicago around 4 tonight. I have everything ready for the consulate (after having triple checked the list). The only thing left is the envelope, which I can grab on the way there once I get into the city. I'll keep you all posted on getting my visa.

Trying to figure out how to pack everything so I have it all, but not taking a huge backpack around the city. I guess I'll figure it out.

With all the craziness of holiday travels, school, bone breaking, and preparations, I think I'll share the most calming image I've ever taken.

This was taken on a car ride to Michigan. I like the strong, yet gentle, light. The sense of going somewhere, but the car being this familiar safe haven. All of the laughing, fun, and friendship that is inherent in road trips. There is something very calming, soothing, and almost nostalgic about this image to me. Let me know what it says to you in the comments!
